Commenting on the changes, Steve Morgan said:

“I am delighted to share that Andrew will take on the role of MD.  No-one can doubt his commitment, passion and dedication to succeeding and I am confident he will do a great job. I know that everyone will get behind him and support his ambitions.

We have already started working on refining our Vision and Mission to evolve a strategy where we work together to become even more innovative, with plenty of scope for us to evolve and transform.”

In response, Andrew Baker said:

“I am honoured and excited to take on this new role. As MD, my vision is clear: to foster a culture of excellence and inclusivity and to harness the power of innovation through customer focus by identifying and satisfying customers and being aware of market trends.”

Andrew is an experienced Financial Director with a keen analytical mind. For over 14 years, he and Steve have led on fundraising initiatives for the P&A Group’s chosen annual charity, ensuring thousands of pounds have been raised for a long list of charitable organisations. As a seasoned marathon runner, he believes that employee health and wellbeing are key factors for the whole company.

Andrew said:

“Charitable fundraising is more than just raising money, it’s also about fostering a community of support, understanding and compassion. We firmly believe that spending time with others, immersing ourselves in the great outdoors, and engaging in physical activity are not just hobbies but essential tools in our arsenal against the struggles of mental health and wellbeing. They also help to deliver a better work life balance, something everyone wants to achieve.”

The P&A Group

The P&A Group was founded almost 40 years ago by Malcolm Morgan, who relocated from Scotland with his wife, Margaret. Based in Mold, it originated as a timber yard producing fencing and sheds. The company evolved to produce a range of timber products including additional types of fencing and gates as well as pallets and packing cases for recognised brands such as Kellogg’s, in Wrexham. To this day, P&A Pallets & Packing Cases continues to supply blue chip companies operating throughout North Wales and the North West.

In the 1990s the original Mold site was further developed into a factory outlet for garden furniture and timber products.

In 2013, the original P&A garden centre was opened by Steve Morgan. This was later redeveloped and became the award winning Woodworks Garden Centre and Café.

Expanding the timber products side, Zest Outdoor Living was launched in 2005 to sell timber garden products to retailers nationwide and is now a leader in the garden industry. Operating from Saltney, the award winning company also supplies online retailers and ecommerce platforms with PEFC certified (PEFC/16-37-1490) sustainable timber garden products and continues to grow as a result of the demand for outdoor living and garden leisure.
