Our Commitment
We have a genuine commitment to the environment and ethical sourcing, and we are proud to be certified by the Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC®-C114990) and the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest (PEFC/16-37-1490).
Our timber is certified to either FSC® or PEFC standards, and our commitment to sustainability is a fundamental part of our brand ethos.
We are dedicated to re-planting and nurturing woodland habitat and are collaborating with our manufacturing partners on re-planting schemes across Europe.
In Wales, we are working with wildlife experts to manage woodland habitats. We are also working towards 100% recyclable and reusable packaging, reducing the use of plastic, and using waste timber to fuel our biomass boilers.
Our Initiatives
We don’t just limit our policies to our products, we also make sure our business processes are kind to the environment too.
- Rainwater – We reuse rainwater, where possible
- Biomass Boilers – Four biomass boilers burn timber waste for heating and hot water
- Solar Panels – We’ve installed 30kW solar panel systems
- Recycling – Our offices and warehouse recycle wherever they can
What is PEFC?
PEFC (Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) is an international, non-governmental, non-profit organisation founded in 1999, promoting sustainable forest management through a forest certification system and labelling products made by independent units.

Forests are used in a way that maintains their biodiversity, regeneration, nature conservation and relevant social standards and welfare for workers.
PEFC certification systems is available in more than 30 countries worldwide and is responsible for certification of over 275 million hectares of forests. Making PEFC the world leader in forest management.
Zero Waste Policy
P&A Pallets & Packing operates a zero waste policy: any unrepairable pallets are chipped and used to fuel our 200 kilowatt biomass boilers that heat our offices and warehouses.
We operate within ISO 9001 standards and all manufactured and sourced pallets are fully inspected for quality assurance.
We source a vast amount of raw materials from home grown sawmills based in the UK using responsibly managed forests.
