Sustainability is central to how we operate. We play a key role in the circular economy by repairing, reusing and recycling pallets while improving energy and transport efficiency. We are part of P&A Group and aligned to the Group’s sustainability strategy and B Corp journey.

Planet

Our carbon footprint (FY23–24)

  • Total emissions: 1,486 tCO₂e
  • Scope 3 (product materials): 1,302 tCO₂e (88%)
  • Operational emissions:
    • Diesel (site & road): 137 tCO₂e
    • Electricity: 41 tCO₂e
    • Biomass heating: 5 tCO₂e
  • Carbon intensity: 35.64 tCO₂e per £100k turnover

Our Energy Use at Pallets

  • Biomass boilers fuelled by waste wood from pallet operations
  • Solar PV installed on suitable buildings
  • Remaining electricity supplied by the national grid
  • Ongoing energy efficiency upgrades including LED lighting

Biomass and solar together already avoid significant carbon emissions each year, helping reduce reliance on fossil fuels.

Product Design and Supply Chain

  • Pallet repair and reuse services
  • Tree Saver pallets made from reclaimed wood
  • Responsible timber sourcing (FSC / PEFC)
  • Reducing embedded carbon in pallet products

Each repaired or Tree Saver pallet avoids around 3.2 kg CO₂, a 52% reduction versus virgin-wood pallets.
