The P&A Group is backing its employees in two impressive money-raising physical challenges during September, the latest initiatives in support of the company’s 2024 charity of the year, North East Wales Mind.
Twelve employees are involved in the 150-foot Liverpool Cathedral Abseil this month, and on 22nd September, Ben Morgan, nephew of P&A Group’s Chairman, Steve Morgan, six times Ironman participant, is undertaking the Ironman challenge. His back-to-back swim, cycle ride and run will be made even more challenging as the swimming section will be in the sea, rather than still water. Ben has a JustGiving page for fundraising here.
The employees taking part in the abseil are: Chloe Blundell, Phil Parsonage, Eve Morgan, Gemma Gannon, Jody Lloyd, Cristina Franco, Fiona Black, Thomas Jones, Alwyn Williams, David Fitzgibbon, Bethan Higham and Vivian Latham. They represent all divisions of the company including P&A Pallets, Woodworks Garden Centre and Zest Outdoor Living timber garden products.
Steve Morgan, Chairman of the P&A Group commented:
“Both of these events are powerful testament to our commitment, as a company, to raising awareness of mental health issues, as we support North East Wales Mind as our chosen charity this year. It also demonstrates the lengths our employees are willing to push themselves to when it comes to raising money for charity.”
North East Wales Mind helps people in Flintshire and Wrexham recover from mental health problems and stay emotionally healthy. In addition to telephone counselling and emotional support, the charity offers a range of online services and activities. Their phone lines are open 10am til 4pm each weekday.
