Due to business growth, we have an exciting opportunity for 2 Production Operatives to join our Pallets and Packaging team on a permanent, full-time basis.

Duties and Key Responsibilities

  • To use a nail gun and other hand tools to manufacture the required timber pallets and crates as set out in the daily worksheet and in accordance with Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Conduct your work and the use of equipment in accordance with Health and Safety Guidelines, being mindful of the safety of yourself and others at all times.
  • Organise your work area prior to production, ensuring you have set up machinery, have sufficient materials, tools and components to optimize efficiency and achieve required production targets.
  • Conduct daily maintenance checks on your equipment as directed and report all faults and operating issues to your supervisor immediately.
  • Work alongside your Supervisor and other members of the team to ensure efficient production and workflow, ensuring all paperwork you are responsible for is completed accurately and processed on time.
  • Actively contribute to non-conformity enquiries (5 Why’s) to identify root cause and prevent future repetition of problems.
  • Maintain an organised, safe, clean and efficient workplace in accordance with accepted standards.
  • Be prepared to rotate across production areas and complete additional tasks as required by your supervisor to support effective functioning of the Production department.

To be considered for this role you should:

  • Have basic level of numeracy and literacy skills and a good level of verbal communication
  • Carpentry/joinery experience, or worked in a similar role, is desirable but not essential as full training will be given
  • Be able to demonstrate experience of using machinery and safe working practices
  • Physically fit and capable of manual lifting
  • Able to follow process and procedure accurately
  • Be well organized, methodical and remain calm under pressure
  • Conscientious with a good eye for detail
  • Responsible and reliable
