A team of six employees from Mold-based P&A Group successfully completed the gruelling Tough Mudder challenge at Cholmondeley Castle earlier this month to raise money for the British Heart Foundation.
Chosen by employees as the company’s charity of the year for 2022, the British Heart Foundation helps and supports 340,000 people living with heart and circulatory diseases in Wales.
Despite heavy rain saturating the ground in the week running up to the event, the team of six started and completed the 10K course together. The team comprised Brandon Jones, Denis Morris, Hannah Dines, Rhys Hughes, Steve Gibson and Thomas Jones.
Commenting after the event, P&A Group team member, Denis Morris, said:
“Wow, what a great event! We started as a team and finished as a team! It was fantastic to complete an amazing 10k challenge and it was such a good feeling to finish knowing that we’d raised more money for the British Heart Foundation.”
The 10k Tough Mudder challenge is one of many events that employees of the P&A Group have completed this year. Back in April, a group of 18 dedicated and determined runners tackled the Manchester Marathon, raising nearly £6,500 in the process!
Other notable fundraising events include a ‘dechox’ in March which raised £677, a 50/50 monthly draw which has contributed over £730 to the total, a cake bake sale (£320), a daily exercise challenge throughout May (£575) and various other events.
The P&A Group has already smashed its annual £10,000 fundraising target and is determined to raise even more money for the British Heart Foundation. More events are planned before the end of the year including an exercise bike challenge, a movie night and raffles, with prizes kindly donated by employees.
Over the last 11 years, employees of the P&A Group have raised in excess of £130,000 for a variety of charities including Macmillan Cancer Support, Hope House and Tŷ Gobaith Children’s Hospices, Cancer Research UK, Action for Children, Alzheimer’s Society, Alder Hey Children’s Hospital and Meningitis Now.
